Why should I use a quilt as my chuppah?
Quilts are made to be used. Quilts are made to last. Quilts are love you can cuddle. Doesn’t that sound like a marriage? Unlike almost anything else from your wedding day, a quilt chuppah is a handmade, meaningful keepsake that you can continue to use throughout your marriage.
-
How Jewish is this?
Jewish tradition promotes the idea of hiddur mitzvah — beautifying ritual objects to enhance a ceremony’s meaning. The chuppah serves as the symbolic first “home” of a couple as they stand beneath it to be wed. It thus commands considerable attention, and should stand out as an object of beauty. So while an ordinary quilt may not be “Jewish,” making a chuppah special to the couple certainly is!

What is the process?
Contact me for an in-person or virtual appointment to talk about your wedding, and what you hope to get out of your chuppah. We’ll work together to approve a pattern, colors and fabric. You’ll get updates and photos along the way, and the finished product will be shipped to you well in advance of your big day.
-
What if I don't like the final result?
My process minimizes this outcome. You’ll pick the pattern, approve fabric swatches, and get a digital mock up of what it will look like. The final quilt won’t be a surprise, it will be something you helped co-design!
-
When should I contact you?
As soon as you think you want a custom chuppah! I only make 3-4 quilts a year, which gives me the time to work closely with the couple to ensure a high quality finished quilt.
-
How long does the process take?
Making a custom quilt is a labor of love. Plan for the entire process to take around three months.
-
How much can I customize a quilt?
You can select the colors and the pattern. I don’t offer additional customizations (like wording) at this time.
-
How much does a custom quilt cost?
Please email me to enquire about pricing.

I think I want a quilt, but I'm not ready to commit...
No problem. First, let’s have a chat. I love weddings — I’d love to hear your story and your wedding design ideas! If you’d like to design a mock-up, but not commit to purchasing the quilt yet, I charge a $150 consulting fee. If you move forward, the fee will go toward the total cost.
